Bill Murray to release new book in the Fall

As first reported by Supercompressor and other sources, a new book detailing the life, career, and exploits of none other than Bill Murray himself will be dropping in September. Excited? You should be.

The man has been a legendary actor for decades now, with a career spanning from the earliest years of Saturday Night Live, to Caddy Shack, Groundhog Day, then Ghost Busters, and all the way to, more recently, even dramatic roles like his award-winning turn in Lost in Translation.

“So I got that goin’ for me.” Classic.

But in recent years, he’s become almost as well known for his good natured, and spontaneous antics, documented in a myriad of internet stories. So the book, which is being touted as ‘part biography, part critical appreciation, part love letter, and all fun’, and which spans the entirety of Murray’s career, including every single theatrical performance, is sure to be a seriously entertaining read. We personally, can’t wait.

Don Rickles rips Jimmy Fallon and The Roots

Don Rickles is an old school comedian who made a name for himself back in the days when Johnny Carson and David Letterman were the late night TV hosts du jour. He was known as an insult comedian of the finest order, who’s also had a number of dramatic roles over his career, and although he’s getting up a bit in the years now, an appearance he made the other night on Jimmy Fallon shows that the man has certainly still got it. He has some great stuff for Fallon, and even has some good lines for QuestLove as well. Check it out below.

Very principled (and strong) cyclist moves car out of bike lane

In a video that is quickly going viral, an absolutely massive dude single-handedly moves a car out of the bike lane, and then subsequently continues on down the road. Could the guy have just pedaled around the car? Absolutely. But did he definitely prove a point (and delight a decently large crowd in the process) by simply lifting the entire thing out of the path before he continued on his way.

Root Beer Beer has finally arrived, law suits from concerned parents sure to follow soon

Via: Source

Making a root beer float with a solid 5.9% alcohol rating had never crossed our minds before. Until recently, that is.

And that thought crossed our minds precisely because a product that we also never would have thought up (but wish we had) now finally exists: root beer beer. That second beer isn’t a typo, dear reader, this beer actually tastes exactly like a really good root beer (not some diet A & W crap), and packs in about 6% percent alcohol. Indeed, using a combination of spices, and likely some sort of gypsy magic, a brewery in Illinois has created a lager that tastes exactly like root beer.

That’s the stuff.

‘Not Your Father’s Root Beer’, made by Illinois based Small Town Brewery, is officially taking the country by storm. It’s such a hit in fact, that the company totaled over $7 million in sales last year, putting them in the top 30 for craft breweries in terms of revenue. And anecdotally at least, we can honestly say that stores are having a hard time keeping this stuff on the shelves.

Definitely keep an eye out for this stuff next time you’re picking up a six pack, even if they are so sugary you can only drink like, 3, tops.

Mutant daisies; sounds like an obscure band, is actually a scary, real thing

Photos have been sweeping the internet the past day or so which show what is reported to be ‘mutant daisies’ near Fukushima in Japan, the site of a nuclear reactor meltdown about four years ago.

Pretty weird stuff if we do say so ourselves. Brings to mind the 3-eyed fish from many classic Simpsons episodes.

Six nuclear power reactors melted down at Fukushima in 2011, following a massive tsunami. And these daisy photos sadly help illustrate how devastating that meltdown was.

New GoPro Hero4 Session; How small is too small?

Go Pro’s are awesome cameras. People who are more accustomed to higher-end camera equipment generally complain about the sound recording quality, but other than that? What is there not to love about the sturdy and portable cameras?

And with the advent of the all new GoPro Hero4 Session edition, a good thing becomes even better. The new Hero4 Session is even smaller (about 1.5 x 1.5 inches) than its predecessors, and comes in a unique cube shape, different than the rectangular ones it follows. Other advantages include it being completely waterproof (other GoPro cameras require a plastic case to keep out water), and the fact that it’s so small and light allows for side mounting (on a helmet, motorcycle, or variety of other surfaces), which is not advised with older, larger GoPro models. However, like all GoPro cameras, there are a few logistical issues.

The new camera takes 4 seconds to turn on and start recording, so if your buddy is about to launch off a sketchy rope swing and you’re on camera duty, be sure to have your camera rolling well ahead of time. Also, to watch playback as you film, you either need to connect it to your smartphone via the GoPro app, or to a separate GoPro remote. But who has time to watch the replay when you’re out doing adventurous, awe-inspiring activities, anyway? For our money, GoPro cameras are amongst the most versatile, and fun to use on the market, nonetheless. For the whole review, check the video below.
